- Managing Director - Strategy -

Grace Willig

Fort Wayne, IN

Grace is invigorated by the power of family philanthropy and is committed to helping philanthropists and their families be purposeful and effective in their social impact endeavors. Each donor brings something unique and valuable to the table, and Grace loves uncovering and activating each person’s interests, skills, and knowledge to maximize their collective impact.

As Managing Director - Strategy, Grace works with clients to articulate their philanthropic priorities and co-create their custom grantmaking process and practices – the mechanisms by which grants are made and family members are engaged. Grace also leads annual grantmaking for several clients, including sourcing and liaising with potential grantees, facilitating grants, and monitoring impact throughout the year. Her favorite part about her role is not only connecting families to the causes and issues they care about, but also establishing a trusting partnership with the organizations they support.

Prior to joining JH Philanthropy in 2020, Grace worked in change management consulting at Root (a part of Accenture). At Root, Grace helped a variety of Fortune 500 companies activate company-wide strategies and achieve goals through the power of employees. Grace has also volunteered or supported several nonprofits including Embarc, Boys & Girls Club, Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance, Greater Muskegon Economic Development, Refugee Education Center, and Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation.

Grace has a master’s degree in Management from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology with minors in Leadership of Organizations and Peace & Justice Studies from Michigan State University. She is a member of Chicago Women in Philanthropy and is a 21/64 Certified Advisor.
